The Battery Management System (BMS), a critical bridge between vehicle power batteries and electric vehicles, monitors and manages battery performance through voltage, current, temperature, and State of Charge (SOC) data collection and analysis. It controls charging/discharging processes to ensure battery protection and optimize performance.  Automotive BMS System Components

    

A Battery Management System typically comprises four key elements:

1.The Main Controller processes data from slave controllers and high-voltage controllers, executing BMS control strategies while monitoring battery status and performing fault diagnostics.
2.The High-Voltage Controller measures total battery voltage and current, providing accurate SOC/SOH calculations through hardware-based time integration, along with pre-charge detection and insulation monitoring capabilities.
3.Slave Controllers monitor individual cell voltages and temperatures, reporting SOH/SOC per cell string while performing passive balancing to maintain cell consistency during operation.
4.The Sampling Harness enables data collection and inter-controller communication, with fused voltage sampling lines to prevent external short circuits caused by wiring or system failures.

The chip features a 32-bit Cortex-M4 CPU based on ARMv7-M architecture, integrating FPU, MPU, DSP with SIMD instructions, ETM for full instruction trace, and CoreSight debug unit. With a maximum operating frequency of 240MHz, it delivers 300 DMIPS or 825 Coremarks performance. On-chip memory includes up to 2048KByte dual bank Flash and 516KByte SRAM (with 128KByte single-cycle access high-speed RAM). The FC4150 product family is a high-performance automotive-grade MCU based on Cortex-M4F core, featuring DSP instructions, FPU, and 8KB instruction cache. It supports ASIL-B functional safety level with built-in HSM hardware encryption engine. Operating at up to 150MHz, it offers 2MB Flash, 256KB D-Flash, and up to 256KB ECC-protected SRAM.
